AAEC Book Fair

I got a notice last week from my daughter’s high school – we are hosting a book fair May 8th at barnes and noble to build a library for the school.  My oldest goes to a charter high school.  They just opened the doors to the location closest to us four years ago.  And starting up it did not include a library.

Well Rachael wanted the latest book by Kiera Cass, The One, and she wanted me to pick it up on its release date May 6th.  After I got the book fair notice I told her she was going to have to wait till May 8th.  Both girls still had barnes and noble gift cards Nonnie gave them at Christmas.  I collected Rachael’s to help pay for her book.  Then I went to get Gretchen’s.  She was not very happy I was going to the book store without her.  But I assured her I would spend her gift card well.  I got the book on Rachael’s list, a new Doctor Who book for Gretchen, Catch Rider by Jennifer H. Lyne and two DVDs.  Gretchen couldn’t believe Frozen has been out and I didn’t pick it up yet.  Then I picked up the second Thor movie because she was also upset we saw Ender’s Game on my birthday instead of Thor.  Actually Mom wanted to see Thor more, as well, but Dad is not a fan of Captain Kirk’s dad so…

You can still support our book fair online! Now through May 13th, Shop and enter book fair ID 11364270 at checkout. At bottom of checkout page, check box that says it’s a book fair purchase. Let’s spread the word to our family & friends!

Yes, you can all help raise money for the school library.  If you are buying a book online at barnes and noble just use the book fair ID code above at check out.  Thank you very much. 😀

I would also like to thank Jennifer Brown, who upon hearing the teachers had her book, Hate List, on the library wish list, graciously stepped up and said she would donate to the library.  😀

Yesterday was a pretty good day.  I spent some time in a book store, read a new book (though I’m going to have to pilfer it back from the Little One to finish it) and then the girls and I spent some time together watching movies.  Tomorrow my crazy hubby is driving out to California to buy a 1978 two seater sports car.  Don’t ask me anything else about it.  I think it’s ugly and I don’t drive so I don’t know anything about cars.  Remember I got him a free tinted windshield upgrade because I didn’t know the one in the car wasn’t tinted.  The reason why I had to hit the bookstore first thing in the morning.  Hubby doesn’t get home from work until after 9 PM most nights.  But he is here in the morning, so he had to drive me over for books.
