Xenophobia poem

Xenophobia

I sit in a crowded room wrapped up tight
Alone in a corner, my closest friend
My Xenophobia is without end
Someone approaches, I want to take flight

My palms start to sweat; my face goes ghost white
How was it I was convinced to attend
Sitting in a crowded room wrapped up tight
Alone in a corner, my closest friend

Greeting strangers, heartbeat quickens in fright
Please do not see me; I’m going to blend
Into this corner before I offend
Pleasant conversation I must recite

I sit in a crowded room wrapped up tight
Alone in this corner, my closest friend
